Well Ladies and Gentlemen, if you are looking for a romantic venue in Geelong to take the hugs n kisses or you have a miracle match on tinder who actually wants to go out for dinner…. The Telegraph Hotel in Pakington st is perfect.

The Parmatiser team visited The Telegraph Hotel on Mother’s Day for dinner and we were greeted by some very happy and friendly staff who showed us to our table. First order of business was to get a beverage. Corona’s all round it was. As we perused the menu I notice they have an Oyster happy hour. Every Thursday between 5pm and 7pm. $1 Oysters. I’ll certainly be back for this.

The friendly staff took our order… Parma’s all round again. (It’s becoming routine) After some general chit chat and bragging how good our Mother’s were our meals arrived in no time. First impressions were great. Neat plate presentation and a good looking salad. The side of gravy came on a separate plate and also looked good enough to drink.

The Chicken Parmigiana looked great. Cheese melted perfectly and was positioned well on the plate with minimal chips underneath it. The Napoli and the ham were fresh and covered the entire schnitzel. Easy to cut and the cheese had a beautiful melted string to it. One of the better Birds I’ve eaten in recent times.

A good looking salad on the eye, but a bit onion and rocket heavy for my liking. Don’t get me wrong, I love onion, but there was just a little too much. Salad included Rocket, Tomato, Onion and Cucumber. A radish or capsicum would have been nice to break up the onion. A nice sweet salad dressing finished of the dish which was served in its own bowl. Saving point of the salad really…

Chips. Great chips. Beautifully cooked and well positioned on the plate. Great tasting and kept me wanting more. Finished the chips in world record time and all present agreed we could have done with some more.

All said and done this was another good Chicken Parmigiana. Geelong certainly has set the bar high and I can highly recommend the Telegraph Hotel for that special date, taking mum out for a well deserved break or maybe even just wanting to enjoy a Parma in a nice friendly environment.

The venue certainly had the mood lighting turned to romantic!!

Yum
